According to The Sun: Ricky Hatton's former partner, actress Claire Sweeney, supported his return to boxing, leaving a touching message a few weeks before his tragic death.

The actress, who dated the world champion last year, posted a video announcing the 46-year-old Hatton's return to the sport.

“This is wonderful,” – she wrote.

Unfortunately, Hatton was found dead in his home in Manchester in the morning. Greater Manchester Police confirmed: “We can confirm that at 6:45 AM we found a body at an address in Ghy Cross. The death is not being treated as suspicious.”

Hatton, known as 'The Hitman', won four world titles, facing some of the best fighters in history.

After retiring, he worked as a boxing promoter and trainer.

Hatton participated in the television show 'Dancing on Ice' last year, where Claire Sweeney also performed. They became friends and then secretly dated for several months. Claire noted: “We are still friends, we used to date, and now we are friends again. Everything is good.”

Hatton, whose brilliant career spanned from 1997 to 2012, recently announced his intention to return to the ring on December 2 in Dubai, during a fight against Eiza Alda. This occurred thirteen years after his unsuccessful return against Vyacheslav Senchenko.

After retiring, he faced issues with alcoholism and depression, but three years ago he returned to boxing, participating in an exhibition match against Mexican star Marco Antonio Barrera.

He openly spoke about his struggles: 'It has inspired many people…', Hatton emphasized, referring to his battle with weight issues and psychological problems.

“I know which fights I can handle, and I know which fights I better not take,” – he spoke about his return.
