According to Oleksiy Nazarenko, the CEO of the Ukrainian Association of Automobile Importers and Dealers (VAAID), among the leaders in sales currently are Renault, Skoda Octavia, Hyundai, and Toyota. Mercedes-Benz and BMW also maintain strong positions, surpassing other cars in their price segment in popularity.
The Car Market in Ukraine after 2022
In 2022, due to military circumstances, sales of passenger cars significantly decreased. But with each passing year, the market is recovering: in 2023, sales rose to 65 thousand, and in 2024, to 72 thousand. It is expected that in 2025 the number of cars sold will be even higher.
More and more attention is being paid to the import of electric vehicles, as from 2026 their preferential import to Ukraine will be suspended. This may lead to an increase in prices for electric cars by a third. Therefore, importers are trying to bring in the maximum volume of this type of transport by the end of 2025.
The number of Ukrainians who own a car indicates stable demand for vehicles in the country. Popular models such as Renault, Skoda Octavia, Hyundai, Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW maintain their positions in the market.
