Mercedes is fighting against piracy, or as people say, against fake spare parts and even entire counterfeit cars. According to Auto Swiat, in 2024, the number of counterfeit spare parts for Mercedes reached record levels — over 212,000 fake offers were removed from online platforms and social media. This is 49% more than last year.It turns out that even luxury models such as AMG and Maybach have become targets for fraudsters. Specifically, in 2024, law enforcement agencies conducted 793 raids on illegal workshops around the world and seized over 1,500,000 counterfeit components. To avoid falling for counterfeit parts, experts advise paying attention to price, checking the source, and quality. Also, for those looking to save money, ADAC recommends refurbished spare parts, which can be up to 50% cheaper than original equipment and still come with a full warranty.
