According to The Sun: Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez commented on his red card that he received in the match against Manchester United.

The Spaniard was sent off the field already in the fifth minute for a foul on Bryan Mbeumo.

Due to this, Chelsea was forced to release Pedro Neto and Estevan Wilian, so that backup goalkeepers Filip Jorgensen and Tosin Adarabioyo could take the field.

Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring, and Casemiro doubled the lead, although he received a red card before halftime. Trevoh Chalobah managed to pull one back, but United held onto their victory, highlighting Sanchez's situation.

“Today, guys, I owe a big apology for that. The team put in a huge effort in the second half, but we couldn't achieve what we needed,” he wrote on Instagram.

Thus, United climbed to tenth place, achieving only their second victory of the season, while Chelsea occupies sixth position with a game in hand.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca was seen grabbing his head after Sanchez's foul but again expressed support for his goalkeeper.

When asked if Sanchez should have let Mbeumo go, Maresca noted: 'That was the best decision.'
“But we still had to play 95 minutes. I think even Robert understands that, but decisions have to be made in one or two seconds,” he added.

Player Opinions and Team Plans

Chalobah commented: “It’s always hard to play with a man down. United were ready and applying pressure.”

“We've been playing in the Premier for a long time, so we just need to learn from this and move on,” he said.

Sanchez will miss three games, and his place will be taken by Jorgensen. Chelsea's next match is an away game against Lincoln in the League Cup, and then the team will return to the League to play against Brighton at Stamford Bridge.

United, in turn, will head to Brentford following a defeat in the Cup against Grimsby, who plays in League Two.

Deservedly, Sanchez became the subject of discussion after the incident, but the team demonstrated determination, continuing to play even with fewer players. Both clubs have serious challenges ahead as they need to gain points in upcoming matches to improve their standings in the table.

Any changes in the lineup can significantly affect their further performances, especially for Chelsea, which is striving to maintain stability amid the changes and challenges that the early part of the season has brought.
