According to The Sun: Rodrigo Bentancur is close to signing a new contract with Tottenham.

For the club, renewing the Uruguayan's contract is a priority, as his previous agreement expires at the end of this season.

Bentancur has participated in all nine of Spurs' matches this season, except for the 3-0 victory over West Ham earlier this month, and is likely to take the field against Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League on Tuesday.

“I was almost certain he would become a key player [before I started working with him], so it wasn't a surprise. He's a player I certainly consider important for the future,”
