Ronnie O'Sullivan to Miss Masters: Named Reason and New Plan for Performances.
Ronnie O'Sullivan Plans to Miss Masters
According to The Sun: Ronnie O'Sullivan has announced that he will not participate in the Masters tournament, which will be held in January.
The 49-year-old snooker player has recently reduced his activity in the sport.
GettyHe recently missed three consecutive tournaments for medical reasons, with the next event in his schedule being the Grand Prix in Sian this month.
Before his expected appearance at the Grand Prix, O'Sullivan informed fans about his schedule, noting the missed opportunity to win around £350,000 at the Masters.
“I probably won't be playing in the Masters this year,” O'Sullivan said.
“I moved to Dubai, a lot of my work is in China and the Middle East, so it makes sense to be closer. The travel lag was brutal. It's not easy just to hop on a plane and go back to the UK.”
“I will probably play in the UK Championship, hopefully in the Tour Championship, if I’ve done enough, and I think I have, as I performed well in Saudi Arabia.”
“Then I want to participate in the World Championship, it would be nice to win it again, before breaking yet another cue.”
O'Sullivan left England and moved to Dubai with his wife, actress Laila Rouass, earlier this year to be closer to his work in Saudi Arabia.
He also changed his residency for convenience in traveling to China, where he plays several tournaments.
“It's really good. I have great training facilities, which was one of the main reasons for the move,” he shared.id='6380337323112' data-video-id='6380337323112' data-account='5067014667001' data-player='default' data-usage='cms:WordPress:6.5.7:2.8.6:javascript' data-embed='default' class='video-js' data-application-id='' controls style='width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; top: 0; bottom: 0; right: 0; left: 0;'>
“I had trouble finding a place to play. It was either taking a train to Sheffield or attempting to move to Sheffield.”
“But my wife wasn’t overly keen on that. So she said we either go to Spain or Dubai.”
“I thought, Dubai is closer to China. It’s in the Middle East. All the tournaments I’m playing and all my work is there. So it makes sense to move to Dubai.”
“I really enjoy it here. Great gyms. I really like it.”
“I already had friends there who played snooker, and they helped me fit into life in Dubai.”
“I met some great people and adjusted very well. So yes, I’m doing very well here.”
“I’m not sitting in the sun, but I would prefer warmth to cold if that makes sense. Spring and autumn are my favorite times.”Getty Ronnie O'Sullivan's return to tournaments seems increasingly uncertain against the backdrop of his future plans. Despite his intentions to participate in the World Championship and a few other tournaments, his health and schedule remain top priority. The situation with his move to Dubai also reflects his desire to optimize conditions for training and competition. Fans remain in anticipation of whether he will be able to fully return to snooker in the near future.
