Rory McIlroy on Ryder Cup: It's one of those great moments I live for.
Moments of Joy for Rory McIlroy
According to The Sun: Rory McIlroy has already lived through “two of those great moments I play for” this year and looks forward to the chance to finish the trifecta at this year's Ryder Cup.
The golfer noted that only a few moments in his 18-year career have given him as much drive as those he felt making a birdie on the playoff during the Masters and a thrilling round at the Irish Open.

He won that playoff at the Irish Open at the K Club. Of course, he won!
McIlroy claims that his victory at the Irish Open, his triumph at Augusta, and winning the Players Championship in another playoff make this year the best of his career.
Strategy for the Ryder Cup
Despite this, he aims to cap off a successful year with just a third away win at the Ryder Cup in the last thirty years, among all the victories achieved by Europe!
“I put myself in the same situations I did at Augusta and K Club, maybe 15 times during my career, when standing over shots that could decide the match.”
“I made perhaps three or four of them. So to do it twice in one year is really something.”
“I've lost more times than I've won. But that's okay, because you can never capitalize on every opportunity that arises.”
“But if you keep giving yourself chances, sooner or later one of those big shots will go in.”
“I would love for the next time to happen at the Ryder Cup.”
Time, Experience, and Team
McIlroy is aware that his time is limited, but believes he still has a few good years ahead. He also notes that he is working significantly better on his golf to continue experiencing these important moments.
This year, McIlroy can also recall two playoffs he won in significant tournaments, showcasing his abilities.
The future opportunity to make a winning shot at Bethpage next Sunday would certainly not make the world number two feel insecure.
McIlroy noted that together with Team Europe, they are “in a much better place” than they were before their last trip to the US in 2021, when they were devastated with a record score of 19-9 at Whistling Straits.
“I feel completely different in this Ryder Cup, given that it has been a year that has defined my career.
“We are significantly stronger than we were four years ago.”
“We are confident that the team is ready for this Ryder Cup.”id='6374311120112' data-video-id='6374311120112' data-account='5067014667001' data-player='default' data-usage='cms:WordPress:6.5.6:2.8.6:javascript' data-embed='default' class='video-js' data-application-id='' controls style='width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; top: 0; bottom: 0; right: 0; left: 0;'>
This fall, a lot of exciting moments are expected at the Ryder Cup, and McIlroy's success could be crucial for Team Europe. Winning this tournament is becoming increasingly important, and the golfer is poised to leverage his experienced celebration to reach new heights in his career.
Since his debut at the Ryder Cup, McIlroy has shown incredible energy and confidence, and this year's event could be a significant milestone in his sporting biography. His ambition and determination clearly inspire not only his team but also fans around the world.
