Russia Intensifies Assault on Sloviansk and Kramatorsk: Pokrovsk Sector Accounts for 20% of All Combat Engagements.
Frontline Overview
According to UATV: Although the overall number of combat clashes has declined, Russian forces are ramping up offensive operations targeting Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. Notably, activity is increasing on the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka axes, where the average daily casualty toll for the Russian army has risen sharply over the past week.
According to available data, one in five of all frontline engagements now occurs in the Pokrovsk sector. This indicates sustained heavy fighting in that area, even as hostilities have cooled elsewhere along the front.
Military expert Serhiy Hrabskyi: 'The enemy will keep up pressure on Pokrovsk, on Ukrainian Defense Forces positions north of Pokrovsk, northwest of Pokrovsk, and also in the Kostiantynivka area.'
Russia’s average daily losses have climbed from 1,100 to nearly 1,400 killed and wounded, a sign of growing Ukrainian activity in these sectors. Hrabskyi stressed Kostiantynivka’s strategic value to the adversary:
“If you look at the map, Kostiantynivka is very important for the enemy because the road to Kramatorsk runs through Kostiantynivka toward Druzhkivka.”
These developments underscore that the conflict remains intense, with the focus on key strategic locations.
Conflict Outlook
The drop in total frontline clashes may reflect tactical shifts by both sides, but the concentration of efforts on critical axes like Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka suggests that strategic objectives remain unchanged.
The high casualty figures among Russian troops point to active Ukrainian counterattacks aimed at securing control over vital territory—moves that could shape the conflict’s future trajectory in the region.
