Russian Military Attacks on Odesa and Zaporizhzhia Regions

According to Novyny.live: Russian forces have continued their assaults on Ukraine's Odesa region, specifically targeting its energy infrastructure. An attack overnight on February 10 damaged a key energy facility and an administrative building, causing widespread power outages. These strikes are part of a sustained campaign to cripple Ukraine's civilian energy grid, especially in the south.

As a result, numerous towns across three communities were left without electricity. Critical infrastructure sites were forced to switch to backup generator power. Separately, a localized network failure caused a blackout in the Izmail district.

In a related series of attacks, the city of Odesa also came under fire from enemy drones on the night of February 9. Simultaneously, Russian troops struck the Zaporizhzhia region, injuring four people, including a child. Occupying forces launched 657 strikes across 35 settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, according to Odesa Regional Military Administration Head Oleh Kiper.

"These bombardments demonstrate the continuation of active hostilities in southern Ukraine, particularly in Odesa and Zaporizhzhia oblasts, with serious consequences for the civilian population."

The damage to Odesa's energy infrastructure, coupled with the heavy shelling in Zaporizhzhia, underscores the severe humanitarian challenges facing local communities. Ensuring energy security and protecting civilian sites has become increasingly critical amid these relentless attacks.
