Russia Launches Nighttime Drone Assault Across Multiple Ukrainian Regions.
Ukraine Targeted by Drone Attack
According to TSN.ua: In the early hours of January 19, 2025, Russia launched another wave of drone attacks against Ukraine. According to reports, hostile unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were detected operating over several regions of the country. These persistent strikes are part of a broader campaign of aerial warfare that has intensified in recent months.
Regions Impacted by the Strikes
- In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, UAVs were tracked moving toward Shakhtarske from the east and in the direction of Donetsk Oblast.
- In Donetsk Oblast, drones were observed heading toward Dobropillia.
- In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, UAV activity was reported in the direction of Komyshuvakha, Vilniansk, and Ternuvate.
- In Chernihiv Oblast, drones passed near Kulikivka and along the border with Sumy Oblast, moving toward Novhorod-Siverskyi from the south.
- In Kharkiv Oblast, UAVs flew toward Zolochiv from a western direction.
- A reconnaissance drone was also recorded from Kyiv Oblast, heading toward the settlement of Malyn (in Zhytomyr Oblast) from the northeast.
This latest drone offensive underscores the continued escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Throughout the war, UAVs have been deployed for intelligence gathering and for striking critical infrastructure. The simultaneous targeting of multiple regions suggests an effort to intensify military pressure across several fronts, posing a significant threat to civilian safety and key installations.
