Heavy Assault on Energy Infrastructure

According to Novyny.live: Russian forces have launched a sustained campaign against the production assets of the Naftogaz group, hitting facilities in the Poltava, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions. The attacks, which began yesterday morning and have continued nonstop for two days, have caused extensive damage and triggered large-scale fires at multiple locations. These strikes are part of a broader effort to cripple Ukraine's energy sector, a key target in the ongoing conflict.

The assaults have been carried out using various types of drones, including jet-powered models, which have targeted industrial facilities. At several extraction sites, major fires have broken out, forcing equipment to shut down. Fortunately, preliminary reports indicate that no workers have been injured. A full assessment of the destruction will only be possible once the security situation stabilizes.

Attacks on Civilian Infrastructure

In addition to the Naftogaz strikes, Russian troops have launched nearly a thousand attacks on civilian infrastructure in the Zaporizhzhia region over the past 24 hours. These bombardments have killed one person and wounded 16 others, affecting more than 50 towns and villages. Separately, on July 5, a Russian missile strike hit a gas station in the city of Izyum, located in the Kharkiv region.

Serhiy Koretskyi noted: 'The enemy is striking industrial facilities with drones of various types, including jet-powered ones.'

These actions underscore the ongoing aggression and the deliberate targeting of Ukraine's energy network.

The relentless shelling of Ukraine's energy infrastructure highlights a dangerous escalation in Russia's military tactics, with severe repercussions for the country's economy and energy security. By attacking critical facilities, the aggressor aims to destabilize the situation and weaken Ukraine's resilience amid the war. This context reinforces the urgent need to protect vital infrastructure and underscores the importance of continued international support in countering aggression.
