Mishustin Arrives in Iran: Key Points about the Russian Prime Minister's Visit

On September 30, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin arrived in Iran with the aim of deepening economic cooperation between the two states.

During a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Mishustin expressed hope for the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement at the BRICS summit to be held in Kazan in October.

The head of the Russian government also discussed opportunities for investments in various sectors in Iran with First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref and Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad.

Cooperation in trade and economics will also be a central theme of Mishustin's visit to Iran, according to Iran's Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali.

Russia and Iran are striving to expand economic and financial cooperation, which is an important factor for relations between the two countries.

It should be noted that Iran is supporting Russia militarily and has transferred Shahed kamikaze drones to Russia, which are being used for attacks on Ukraine. Iranian specialists are also producing drones on Russian territory.
