Russia damaged the Polish consulate in Odesa
According to Novyny.live: The Polish consulate in Odesa was damaged as a result of a nighttime shelling by Russia. As a result of the attack, six people were injured, and the city's infrastructure was also damaged. The consulate was shelled at night when Odesa endured an intense strike from hostile drones.
The spokesperson for the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maciej Wewior, confirmed the damage to the consulate, stating that
“another night of Russian terror”. As a result of the nighttime bombing, none of the consulate's staff were injured, and Wewior expressed great respect for the entire team working in Ukraine.
Consequences of the attack
Among those injured as a result of the attack were six people aged between 35 and 68. Two of them sustained moderate injuries and were hospitalized, while four of the injured received assistance on-site. The shelling also caused damage to:
- energy facilities,
- multi-apartment residential buildings,
- hospitals,
- kindergartens,
- other social infrastructure facilities.
This incident highlights the growing tension in the region and the seriousness of the threats faced not only by military but also by civilian objects. Poland, as one of Ukraine's allies, may view this attack as a violation of international norms, which could lead to new diplomatic tensions between countries. The support of the international community remains crucial in response to aggression, as do measures to ensure the safety of consular institutions in Ukraine.
