Russia has extended the ban on gasoline exports due to drone strikes on refineries.
According to inkorr.com: The Government of the Russian Federation has made the decision to extend the ban on gasoline exports due to the fuel crisis caused by attacks from Ukrainian drones on oil refineries. According to the issued order, the complete ban applies to all market participants, and restrictions have been extended for different business entities for varying periods.
Impact of attacks on the fuel market
As a result of a series of attacks by Ukrainian drones on 10 major Russian refineries in the summer, Russia lost about 17% of its refining capacity. This led to a severe fuel shortage and record gasoline prices. The shortage is felt most acutely in certain regions where fuel sales restrictions have already been imposed.
Thus, the Russian government continues to impose the ban on gasoline exports due to the crisis in the fuel sector caused by drone attacks and difficulties in refining. This could lead to even higher fuel prices due to a lack of product in the market and negatively impact the country's economy.
