Air Defense Destroyed 247 Targets Overnight: How a Massive Attack from Russia Was Repelled.
According to ТСН: On the night of January 13, the Russian army launched missile strikes against Ukrainian territory, also using drones. The Air Forces destroyed 247 aerial targets.
This was reported by the Command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Details of the Attacks
According to military data, the Russian troops launched 18 ballistic missiles of the "Iskander-M" type and guided anti-aircraft missiles S-300 from the Kursk, Bryansk, Voronezh regions, and Crimea. In addition, seven missiles "Iskander-K" were fired from the Kursk and Belgorod regions.
Also during the night, attacks were carried out with 293 strike drones of the Shahed type (200 units), "Gerbera", and other models. The drones were launched from directions in Kursk, Oryol, Shatalovo, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Kacha in Crimea.
"Missile strikes were delivered from four locations to the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kyiv regions," the Air Forces emphasized.
Results of Air Defense Operations
According to preliminary data, the air defense shot down 247 targets:
two Iskander-M ballistic missiles,
five Iskander-K cruise missiles,
240 UAVs.
The military noted that the aerial targets were destroyed in the north, south, east, and center of the country. Also, hits of ballistic/anti-aircraft missiles and 48 strike UAVs were recorded at 24 locations.
These attacks once again highlight the tense situation in Ukraine, where air defense remains a priority task. Protecting the population from aerial threats will remain an important aspect amidst the ongoing war and requires constant readiness and improvement of defense systems.
