Russia has removed two hero generals after devastating losses in the Dobropol direction.
Removal of Generals of the Russian Occupation Forces
According to TSN.ua: The command of the Russian occupation forces has removed two generals after failed attacks on Ukrainian positions in the Dobropol direction. The removal occurred against the backdrop of significant losses of Russian troops in this region.
Among the removed generals is Lieutenant General Suhrab Akhmedov, who was awarded the title of 'Hero of Russia' in the summer of 2025. Akhmedov commanded a marine brigade but failed to achieve the necessary level of success during combat operations. Also removed is Lieutenant General Sergey Milychakov, who also holds the title of 'Hero of Russia.'
Losses of Troops in the Dobropol Direction
Since August of last year, Russian troops in the Dobropol direction have suffered significant losses amounting to:
- nearly 23 thousand troops
- over 360 units of heavy equipment
These figures underscore the seriousness of the situation at the front and the need for changes in command to improve the results of military operations.
The removal of high-ranking officials may indicate criticism of the strategy of the Russian command and pressure on military leaders in connection with the failures at the front. Given the large losses, this could lead to a review of tactics and new approaches in combat operations on the Ukrainian front, highlighting the dynamics and tensions of the conflict in the region.
