Oleksandr Kovalenko has confirmed that Russian forces are already positioned on the city's outskirts. The western approaches are under the control of the 8th Combined Arms Army, while the eastern edges are held by the 3rd Army Corps. According to him, these micro-tactical groups are deployed for assault operations with notable effectiveness. “Typically, these assault actions are carried out by such micro-tactical groups,” he added. Despite their smaller size, Kovalenko stressed that “there are still a large number of them, a significant amount of human resources” involved in the attacks.
