Damage was also recorded in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions.
Consequences of the Attacks
The attacks resulted in the deaths of seven people in Kharkiv, with more than ten others injured, including children. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated:
'The clearing of debris from a residential building in Kharkiv, hit by a Russian ballistic missile, has continued since last night. Unfortunately, seven people have died. More than ten are injured, among them children. People may still be trapped under the rubble. All necessary services are working on-site to conduct rescue operations.' Volodymyr Zelenskyy
In total, Russia used 509 aerial attack assets against Ukraine, with 26 strike UAVs recorded at 22 locations. This relentless assault is part of a broader Russian campaign targeting civilian areas and critical national infrastructure. President Zelenskyy added:
'Russia has not abandoned its attempts to destroy Ukraine's residential and critical infrastructure, which means support must continue. The PURL program must continue to work no less actively. We count on active work with the EU to guarantee greater protection for our people.' Volodymyr Zelenskyy
This massive Russian strike represents another phase in its aggressive policy towards Ukraine, highlighting the ongoing threats to civilians and critical systems. Given the scale of the attacks, Ukrainian authorities are calling for sustained international support and the intensification of programs aimed at ensuring population security. The events of March 7 underscore the necessity for the international community to maintain focus on the conflict and the need for additional security measures to protect Ukrainians.
