Ukraine Reports 71 Russian Attacks in a Day: Defenders Hold Lines on Three Fronts.
Russian Army Strikes Ukrainian Defense Positions
According to UATV: On July 4, 2023, Russian forces launched 71 attacks against Ukrainian defense positions since the start of the day. The main areas of assault remain the Slaviansk, Pokrovsk, and Huliaipole fronts. Ukrainian troops report heavy enemy losses, including the elimination of 1,190 Russian soldiers in the past 24 hours. This update comes amid ongoing intense fighting as Ukraine continues to counter the full-scale invasion that began in February 2022.
Slaviansk Front Situation
The Slaviansk axis has seen a significant rise in combat engagements, indicating an escalation of hostilities in that region. In Chasiv Yar, Ukrainian forces are holding the Shevchenko district, a key strategic point in the fight against the aggressor. Since the war began, Russia has lost over 1,408,000 troops, highlighting severe casualties on the enemy side. Amid active combat, Ukrainian soldiers aim not only to hold their positions but also to conduct counteroffensive operations.
“The pressure is insane. However, our fighters are managing, among other things, counterattack actions. So talk of capturing Kostiantynivka is off the table today.” - Serhiy Bratchuk
Dmytro Snegirev also commented on the situation, stating that “all statements by Russian dictator Putin about already capturing Kostiantynivka are nothing more than another premature victory claim we have grown accustomed to.” These remarks underscore Ukrainian troops' confidence in their ability to resist aggression and defend the country's territorial integrity. Under intense assaults, Ukrainian forces continue to fight for their positions, demonstrating resilience and readiness to repel aggression.
The front-line situation remains tense, with combat activity intensifying in key sectors, reflecting the ongoing armed conflict between Ukraine and Russia. High Russian military losses point to the effectiveness of Ukraine's defense and its determination to protect its territories. These developments could shape the future trajectory of the conflict and the strategies of both sides in the coming period.
