Russian media once again used artificial intelligence for a fake: how to recognize a counterfeit.
According to inkorr.com: Today, some Russian media decided to regain popularity through deception: they spread a fake video claiming that Ukrainian soldiers who had been wounded were leaving Pokrovsk. However, fortunately, experts confirmed that this footage was created using artificial intelligence – there are no doubts about its 'authenticity.'
Signs of forgery
Experts pointed out several signs that indicate a forgery. Among them are the strange diction of the synthetic voices of the actors playing the roles of soldiers, excessively realistic movements of objects in the frame, and the 'teleportation' of a wheelchair. This is not the first case where Russian propaganda tries to shock its audience with fake video materials, but fortunately, the truth always finds its way to the light.
This case vividly demonstrates how important it is to approach media content critically and verify information before believing it. Now, as artificial intelligence technologies rapidly evolve, fake news is becoming increasingly realistic. For news consumers, it remains important to be able to recognize such manipulations and not to fall prey to the influence of thoughtless messages.
