Russians Spread Fake News About Spider Invasion in Ukraine: Ministry of Health Refutes.
Propagandist resources are spreading messages about an alleged "attack on Ukraine by poisonous spiders". A case of a karakurt spider bite was recorded in the Odesa region, after which the man needed medical help, but there were no fatal cases. This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation, citing the Ministry of Health.
According to the Ministry of Health, there have been no mass appeals for medical assistance related to poisonous spider bites. In July, a case of a karakurt spider bite was registered, after which the victim sought medical help. He is now in the hospital receiving the necessary assistance, and his condition is stable.
«The Ministry of Health also emphasized that due to the abnormal heat this year in Ukraine, spiders have become more active, but there are no fatal cases. In case of a bite, it is recommended to immediately seek medical help. It is important to remember that bites from Ukraine's most poisonous spider mostly do not lead to fatal consequences», - the statement reads.
The Center for Countering notes that Russian propaganda is trying to spread fakes about mass spider bites on people, allegedly several deaths have been recorded and many people are in hospitals, but this does not correspond to reality.
Earlier it was reported that the first case of a bite by the deadly karakurt spider was recorded in Bolgrad, Odesa region.
