Russian soldiers returned from captivity: why they do not want to fight again

According to FREEДOM: 'Of course, they really want to return home to their families. Their wives and children are waiting for them. They do not want to go to war anymore. I spoke with them today, trying to explain that after the exchange, the Russian authorities will again try to send them [to the front], but they do not want to believe it,' Krygina noted.

According to Irina Krygina, there are only two ways to get out of the contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation: reaching 65 years of age and through health status.

'So I tell everyone: if you have the opportunity to be discharged for medical reasons, you must definitely go through a medical commission and not miss this chance. I know that many prisoners of war who returned [during the exchange] have direct indications to be discharged for health reasons, but they do not take advantage of this opportunity - they let everything go on its own. They have a commission carried out on paper; they do not go through doctors. To such people, I advise hiring military lawyers, writing reports and complaints,' the representative of the public organization explained.

It should be noted that the speaker of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, Sergey Bratchuk, reported that Russia is no longer attracting people to the war in Ukraine with money, but is actually forcing them to participate. Not only Russians are sent to combat zones, but also thousands of migrants who have obtained Russian citizenship. In addition, 'crippled regiments' are emerging, in which wounded fighters are fighting. For more details, read on the Freedom resource. During another prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia, the freed Russians expressed a desire to return home and refused to believe that they could be sent to the front again. Irina Krygina emphasized the importance of the possibility of being released from the contract for medical reasons, advising prisoners of war to take advantage of this opportunity.
