Thousands of Ukrainian Troops Rejoin as New Army Contracts Take Effect.
Returning to Service After Going AWOL
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine has introduced a fresh set of military contracts with clearly defined service periods, prompting thousands of soldiers to re-enlist. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov confirmed that thousands of applications have already been submitted by personnel previously absent without leave (AWOL). This surge reflects a strong willingness among service members to rejoin the country's defense forces.
According to Fedorov, the Ukrainian military is currently capable of eliminating between 30,000 and 35,000 Russian troops each month, underscoring the high level of training among Ukrainian forces. The minister stated:
'Today, the Ukrainian army is the most prepared in Europe.' Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine
National Guard fighters who previously abandoned their units also have the opportunity to return to duty. They can submit an electronic request through the 'Army+' application, which facilitates the reinstatement process. Applications for return are accepted until September 20 inclusive, offering added flexibility for those looking to resume their service.
These reforms in Ukraine's military sector could significantly impact the front-line situation, as bringing experienced soldiers back into the ranks enhances combat readiness and overall force effectiveness. Notably, the use of digital platforms for reinstatement reflects the government's effort to adapt to modern technology and better address the needs of military personnel.
