Civilian Casualties Mount in Ukraine
According to UATV: Russian military strikes against Ukrainian civilians continue to inflict a rising toll of casualties and infrastructure damage. Attacks have been recorded in Kryvyi Rih, Nikopol, Mijeva, Druzhkivka, and other settlements, resulting in civilian deaths and injuries. These assaults are part of a broader pattern of attacks on non-military targets, which international observers have repeatedly condemned.
In early March near Kryvyi Rih, a combat drone struck a commuter train, killing one person and injuring more than ten. In Nikopol, a Russian FPV drone hit a civilian car with tragic results. On March 2, a drone attack on an electric train killed one passenger and wounded ten others. During the night of March 1, a 56-year-old man was killed in the settlement of Mijeva by an FPV drone strike.
Local Testimonies Highlight the Growing Danger
Furthermore, on March 2 in Druzhkivka, attacks killed three people and wounded seventeen. As of February 13, 2026, over 15,000 civilians have been killed and more than 41,000 injured as a result of Russian aggression in Ukraine. On the night of March 5, Russian forces struck three Ukrainian regions, wounding two people.
Local residents report a sharp increase in the level of danger.
"It is extremely dangerous in the city right now. Drone strikes are happening every five to ten minutes," noted Yevhenii Musiichuk.Dmytro Mazurov also reported on a tragedy from several days prior:
"Several days ago, an FPV drone hit a car carrying civilians who were on their way to work in the city of Nikolaivka. As a result, two power plant workers were killed."
These events underscore the alarming situation in Ukraine as hostilities continue, posing a persistent threat to the civilian population. The ongoing attacks have serious consequences for local safety and livelihoods, with the number of casualties continuing to climb, indicating an escalation of the conflict. Living under constant threat forces residents to endure profound uncertainty, which severely impacts their psychological well-being and daily existence in the targeted regions.
