Russian Drone Strikes Kill Civilian and Damage Property in Kharkiv Region.
Aftermath of Russian Attacks on Kharkiv Region
According to Novyny.live: Law enforcement officials have documented the aftermath of Russian attacks on the Kharkiv region. An investigation is ongoing into Russian drone strikes that occurred on February 17-18. These attacks resulted in the death of a civilian woman and caused damage to homes and vehicles. The Kharkiv region, bordering Russia, has been a frequent target since the full-scale invasion began in 2022.
Strikes in Komisarivka and Solonytsivka
A tragedy occurred on February 17 in the village of Komisarivka, Kupiansk district, where a 66-year-old woman was killed. The following day, February 18, a drone struck residential buildings in the Solonytsivka community, leading to further destruction. It was also noted that on February 17, in Liutivka, a vehicle belonging to an agricultural enterprise and a private house were destroyed.
In connection with these events, pre-trial investigations into war crimes have been initiated by the prosecutors' offices of the Derhachiv, Kupiansk, and Bohodukhiv districts. Authorities continue to work to clarify all the circumstances of the attacks to hold those responsible to account.
These incidents underscore the persistent threat the war poses to civilians in Ukraine, particularly in the Kharkiv region, which remains in the conflict zone. The prosecutor's office is intensifying its efforts to document war crimes, a process that could become a crucial step in the international human rights context and in the pursuit of accountability at both national and international levels.
