Russian prisoners of war in Ukraine appealed to Putin: why are they not being exchanged

According to ТСН: On the eve of a direct line with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, which will take place for the citizens of Russia, Russian prisoners of war in Ukraine recorded a video appeal with questions.

The video was published by the public movement 'Our Exit' on YouTube. The main question that the imprisoned occupiers ask is why they are not being exchanged.

The prisoner whose last name is Tkachuk noted that thousands of people are detained in the camp where he is located.

Among the prisoners, there are wounded and young people under 25 years old, who according to the agreements from June 2, 2025, were supposed to be exchanged 'all for all'. However, Russia has not fulfilled its obligations.

Among those who appealed to Putin were also seriously wounded and sick individuals. Former fighters of the Rosgvardiya 'Akhmat' unit spoke out, inquiring about the terms of exchange. One of the Russian occupiers, who was captured for the second time, expressed his concern.

'We all expect when Putin will exchange us. There's no patience,' said prisoner of war Mansur Elmurzaev.

The leader of the movement 'Our Exit', Irina Krynina, hopes that Ukraine and Russia will conclude a peace agreement, the first item of which will be the exchange of prisoners of war in the format of 'all for all'.

This organization, founded by Russian women in Ukraine in December 2023, helps search for imprisoned occupiers and facilitates the processing of prisoner of war status in Russia.

Thanks to cooperation with the Ukrainian project 'I Want to Find', it is possible to expedite the processes of exchanging prisoners of war.

The public movement 'Our Exit' in Russia has the status of 'foreign agent'.

Recall that earlier the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, announced the restoration of the process of exchanging prisoners of war, as a result of which 1200 Ukrainians will be returned from Russian captivity. It is expected that the return of the captured Ukrainians home will take place by Christmas.

These events testify to the duration and complexity of the process of exchanging prisoners of war, as well as the obligations that the parties must fulfill. The public movement 'Our Exit' and other organizations continue to work on resolving issues related to the captives, hoping for positive changes in the near future.
