Deadly Strike on a Public Minibus in Kherson

According to Novyny.live: On July 1, Russian forces used an unmanned aerial vehicle to attack a public minibus in Kherson, killing two individuals and wounding six others. This assault is the latest in a series of deliberate strikes by occupying troops against civilian targets, as they have repeatedly targeted ordinary minibuses with drones in the city.

The injured include:

  • A 36-year-old man
  • A 53-year-old woman
  • A 52-year-old woman
  • A 55-year-old woman
  • A 53-year-old woman
  • A 57-year-old woman

All victims sustained injuries of varying severity. Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, stated that the drone operator clearly saw the civilian vehicle but deliberately chose to attack the people inside.

Growing Danger for Civilians

This incident is not an isolated case of attacks on civilian infrastructure in the region. On June 25, an enemy drone struck a medical facility, wounding five staff members. Additionally, on June 16, drone strikes on the Korabelnyi district killed one person and injured six others. These events highlight the escalating threat to civilians in Kherson and surrounding areas.

The repeated targeting of civilian objects in Kherson underscores the serious and growing danger for the local population amid the ongoing conflict. Given the frequency of such incidents, the international community's response is becoming increasingly critical, along with the consideration of enhanced safety measures to protect civilians in the region. These developments may influence future military and political decisions by both Ukraine and other nations supporting the Ukrainian people.
