Kharkiv Under Fire: July 2 Attack Details

According to Novyny.live: A family with a young child was wounded on July 2 when a Russian drone hit their vehicle at a gas station in Kharkiv. The strike occurred at 5:40 PM local time, targeting a car carrying a man, a woman, and their child. According to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, all three were hospitalized with shrapnel injuries.

The attack also resulted in at least one fatality and additional casualties. Bohdan Hladkykh commented on the incident:

“One of the cars was refueling, and inside was a family — a man, a woman, and a child. The drone struck that car directly, causing a fire.”

Data shows that Kharkiv endured 142 attacks in June 2023, underscoring the ongoing escalation in the region.

Continued Aggression and Its Toll

This event highlights Russia’s sustained aggression in Ukraine, particularly in Kharkiv, where civilians — including children — remain at constant risk. The rise in shelling during June points to a persistently tense situation, raising alarm among local residents and the international community.

Ongoing attacks on civilian infrastructure could trigger severe humanitarian consequences, demanding urgent measures to protect the population.
