General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the results of the Russian campaign
The seasonal offensive campaign of Russia has ended without notable success. This was commented on by the leaders of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on August 31 regarding the occupiers' report, in which they claimed "successful" results of the spring-summer offensive in 2025, reports FREEДОМ.
Casualties of the Russian troops
According to the General Staff, the Kremlin's statements about "security zones" in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions are attempts to conceal the failures of operations that resulted in significant losses for the Russian side.
"Despite Gerasimov's words, the Russian troops did not gain control over any major city. Since the beginning of the year, in senseless battles in the Kharkiv, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions, they lost almost 210,000 of their soldiers, killed and wounded. Also, 2,174 armored combat vehicles, 1,201 tanks, 7,303 artillery systems, and 157 multiple launch rocket systems were destroyed or damaged," the General Staff noted.
The occupiers' figures are exaggerated
Ukrainian military officials also indicated that the data on captured territories and settlements from the occupiers is significantly exaggerated.
"The final report of General Gerasimov is a typical example of aggressive Kremlin lies and overconfidence. The Ukrainian Defense Forces hold the front, destroy and exhaust the occupier, proving that no Kremlin propaganda can hide the failure of the Russian spring-summer campaign of 2025," emphasized the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Assessment of the situation by the President of Ukraine
Let us remind you that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, voiced information about the losses of the Russian troops at the front over 8 months and announced new diplomatic initiatives.
In the context of recent events, the assessments of the General Staff indicate that the Russian offensive campaign did not bring the expected results, which may suggest that the Ukrainian troops continue to effectively counter the aggression. This also underscores the importance of support from allies in ensuring security in the region and repelling further threats.
