Three Wounded in Russian Shelling of Sumy Region: 28 Strikes Hit 21 Localities.
Russian Shelling Targets Sumy Region
According to Novyny.live: On July 5, Russian forces launched attacks on Ukraine's Sumy region, leaving three women injured. The victims, aged 19, 49, and 55, were caught in 28 separate strikes that impacted 21 different communities across the area. This wave of attacks caused extensive damage to civilian infrastructure.
The shelling destroyed or damaged a range of properties, including:
- apartment buildings
- a summer house
- two cars
- a garage
- a community building
- a car wash
- a gas station
In the Krasnopillia community, a private home was completely destroyed, and a local medical station also sustained damage.
This assault was not an isolated incident. On the same day, Russian attacks also struck the Dnipropetrovsk region, wounding two people, and the Zaporizhzhia region, where one person was killed and 16 others injured. These coordinated strikes highlight the ongoing intensity of the conflict across multiple Ukrainian regions.
The continued shelling of civilian areas in Sumy and other regions underscores the escalating violence and its toll on ordinary residents. With attacks on non-military targets increasing, the safety of civilians is severely threatened, and the humanitarian situation is growing more dire. Local authorities and international organizations are closely monitoring the developments, but the affected communities continue to bear the heavy burden of this aggression.
