Occupation forces attacked the nursing home in Sumy
On September 19, 2024, occupation forces attacked the nursing home in Sumy. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS), one person died in the hospital as a result of the attack, and another 12 were injured.
According to DSNS, the technical and fifth floors of the five-story building of the nursing home were partially damaged. 147 people were evacuated, there are no casualties under the rubble.
The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Artiukh, told Hromadske that some of the injured are in serious condition in the hospital. 221 elderly people lived in the nursing home.
"Hromadske Sumy" showed the consequences of the attack on the nursing home. The video shows that some people are simply lying on the ground.
5 buses were used for evacuation and support, 2 of which belong to DSNS. 2 medical billing units of DSNS were also used to transfer patients to the hospital and to other nursing homes.
