Gas tariffs will increase by 65%: how this will affect prices in 2026.
According to ТСН: In 2026, an increase in prices for goods and rising inflation are expected. This may also be combined with an energy deficit, which will create additional pressure on prices.
Impact of tariffs on industry
Expert Volodymyr Omelchenko, director of energy programs at the Razumkov Center, discussed the consequences of increasing gas distribution tariffs.
"Every increase in tariffs for businesses adds to the cost of industrial products. Then the industry passes all this on to consumers. And if these are some export productions, the products of these exporting enterprises become less competitive," explained Omelchenko.
He also emphasized that the natural gas distribution tariff may increase by approximately 65% on average.
Changes from January 1, 2026
From January 1, 2026, gas distribution network operators (GDN) in Ukraine will increase tariffs for natural gas distribution services for non-household consumers. This decision was made by the National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Utility Services (NERC).
It was previously reported that the rate of price increases in Ukraine would gradually slow down. However, in 2026, inflation will remain at a rather high level, and the government warns that macroeconomic stability largely depends on the development of the security situation.
Thus, the increase in gas tariffs may exacerbate economic challenges for businesses and consumers. It is important to monitor further developments in this area, as they may significantly affect the financial situation in the country and the welfare of the population.
