Violations of Military Registration in Ukraine

According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian citizens who have failed to comply with military registration rules may find themselves subject to a search warrant issued by their local Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRC). However, a new online procedure now allows individuals to clear this warrant using the 'Reserve+' mobile application. The standard fine for such violations is currently 17,000 hryvnias, but there is a mechanism to have this amount reduced.

This reduced fine is set at 8,500 hryvnias, which is exactly half of the original penalty. Citizens are given a 20-day window to pay this discounted amount. It is crucial to understand that paying a fine resolves only the specific violation for which it was issued. If the fine is not paid within the allotted 20 days, the amount will double to 34,000 hryvnias over the following 20-day period.

Grounds for a Search Warrant and the Payment Process

Common reasons for receiving a search warrant include:

  • Failing to report to the TRC after receiving a summons;
  • Not being registered for military service;
  • Not undergoing the mandatory military medical commission (MMC).

To pay the fine and clear the warrant, citizens must follow a few simple steps via the app:

  • Install the 'Reserve+' application;
  • Log in and authenticate;
  • Submit an application to acknowledge the violation.

The TRC is required to review the application within three days, making the entire process take approximately four days. This system provides a way for citizens to swiftly address military registration issues and avoid escalating financial penalties. This digital initiative is part of broader efforts to streamline military administration during wartime, aiming to improve compliance while reducing the bureaucratic burden on recruitment centers. The 'Reserve+' app offers a practical tool for citizens to manage their obligations directly.
