Amorim made a surprising decisive change in Manchester United's goal.
According to The Sun: The head coach of 'Manchester United' Ruben Amorim did not include goalkeeper Altay Bayindir in the squad for the important Premier League match against 'Sunderland' at Old Trafford.
The 40-year-old coach decided to give a chance for a debut to summer signing Sene Lammens, considering the poor performance of the 27-year-old Bayindir.
Head coach of 'Manchester United' Ruben Amorim explained why he did not select Altay Bayindir Bayindir gives way to summer signing Sene Lammens, who makes his debut for 'Manchester United'
Lammens starts the game against 'Sunderland' due to rotationReasons for the change in the squad
The Portuguese coach explained that the decision to release the former 'Royal Antwerp' player was part of the squad rotation.
Amorim told the BBC:
“This is rotation. Everyone must be ready to play.”
“We need to win this match, every opponent is different, so we are trying to find the best characteristics to win every match.”
Bayindir started the season as the first goalkeeper for 'Manchester United' after Andre Onana was loaned to 'Trabzonspor'.
United quickly signed Lammens on the last day of the transfer window for 18.5 million pounds.
The Turkish international has had issues in goal for the 'Red Devils,' and it was expected that the Belgian would soon get his chance.
Team lineup for the match
The absence of Bayindir is not the only surprise in Amorim's starting lineup for the game against 'Sunderland'.
Matheus Cunha also starts the match on the bench for the 'Red Devils' in this important Premier League contest.
The Portuguese decided to field Mason Mount in place of Cunha, 26 years old.
Mount will play alongside Bryan Mbeumo, who occupies the position behind central forward Benjamin Sesko in the 3-4-2-1 formation.
Coach's notes
This decision came after Amorim admitted that his position as Manchester United's coach would become "impossible" if he does not start winning soon.
According to SunSport, Amorim still enjoys the support of the club's management, and there are currently no candidates for replacement.
However, club officials are monitoring potential successors for the former 'Sporting' coach, who has won only nine league matches in 11 months of work.
We see that changes in the Manchester United team are driven by the need to improve results. Rotation is part of the coach's strategy to find the most effective lineup for the match that will ensure victory in a highly competitive environment. The situation with Bayindir and Lammens indicates that the club is ready for experimentation for the sake of success.Read also
