Barrier-Free Routes in Lviv and Kropyvnytskyi: How Cities are Becoming More Accessible.
According to inkorr.com: The works on creating accessible sidewalks are ongoing in Lviv and Kropyvnytskyi as part of the initiative 'Movement Without Barriers'. In the Lychakiv district, the renovation of the sidewalk near the stop has already been completed, which will ease the movement of patients of the Border Guard Hospital. In the Shevchenkivskyi district of Lviv, major repairs have begun on an important section of the inclusive route. In Kropyvnytskyi, work is also ongoing on Theater Street to create a barrier-free route that is safe for all road users.
Inspection of Pilot Routes
A veteran ambassador carried out an inspection of the pilot routes in Ternopil and Chernivtsi. He noted the positive changes and assessed the repaired sections. In Chernivtsi, work on the barrier-free route is ongoing and is planned to be completed by the end of the year. Vinnytsia is also actively working on creating accessible urban spaces: conducting training and setting up new areas for residents and guests of the city.
The creation of barrier-free routes is an important initiative that helps make urban spaces more convenient for everyone. Thanks to such projects, people with disabilities gain more opportunities for free movement, and the overall comfort for all residents of the cities is increased.
