At 51, Giggs previously managed the Welsh national team and helped qualify the team for Euro 2020. However, he missed the final due to his arrest on suspicion of assault in November 2020.
The jury could not reach a verdict on the charges of assault and controlling behavior. A retrial was canceled due to the testimony of his ex-girlfriend Kate Greville.
Giggs, who was replaced as Wales manager by Robert Page, admitted it was 'heartbreaking' not to lead the 'Dragons' to the Euros, which were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The former United winger, who won 13 titles under Sir Alex Ferguson, stated in January:
“I had a time as manager of the Welsh national team and enjoyed it. Ultimately, I would love to return to coaching. On match day, I still feel the same interest, maybe even more.”
Giggs and his 'Class of '92' colleagues, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes, and Phil Neville, were bought by David Beckham and Gary Neville, who completed the takeover of Salford in May.
The United veteran did not receive a nomination for the Premier League Hall of Fame this month, despite his 13 titles at Old Trafford.
SunSport columnist Troy Deeney criticized the selection process, and the Premier League announced changes to the voting system, but the final decision on nominations remains with Hall of Fame members.
Among the new nominees were Giggs' former United teammates: Gary Neville, Patrice Evra, Michael Carrick, and Teddy Sheringham.
