Ryanair’s 2026 Carry-On Rules: New Size Limits and Fees Announced.
Ryanair’s Updated Policy Effective June 2026
According to Novyny.live: Starting in June 2026, Ryanair passengers will be allowed to bring only one small bag aboard, with maximum dimensions of 40 x 30 x 20 cm. This restriction applies to everyone traveling with carry-on luggage. Importantly, any bag exceeding these measurements will incur an additional charge—a key consideration for those planning trips with the airline.
In addition to the standard carry-on item, travelers may bring a second bag measuring up to 55 x 40 x 20 cm and weighing no more than 10 kg, but this service comes at an extra cost. The fee for this additional carry-on ranges from €12 to €52, depending on the route and booking time, so passengers should factor this into their travel budget.
New Routes and Summer Appeal
Ryanair has also expanded its summer schedule by adding 19 new routes, giving travelers more destination options. Among these are popular Adriatic coastal resorts such as Dubrovnik (Croatia) and Podgorica (Montenegro). These destinations are likely to attract those seeking sunny beaches and a classic summer getaway.
The airline’s revised carry-on rules reflect a strategic effort to manage costs and streamline passenger service. By tightening size limits and introducing fees for larger bags, Ryanair encourages travelers to pack more efficiently, which may also influence ticket pricing. At the same time, the route expansion signals growing travel demand and increased competition in the aviation market, ultimately broadening choices for tourists.
