The carriages for this service were manufactured in December 2024, underscoring the company’s drive to enhance passenger travel quality.
Upgraded Cabin Comfort
The compartments on train No. 79/80 (Dnipro–Kyiv–Lviv) now offer greater comfort thanks to several new features:
- A foldable third shelf above the second berth, freeing up more space between seats;
- Installed window blinds;
- Safety restraints on the upper berths to secure personal belongings;
- Electrical outlets and reading lights on the upper berths.
'A clean, spacious carriage, a spotless restroom, comfortable soft berths, plus a table and an extra-large storage shelf on the top bunk. And the bedding deserves special mention—snow-white and perfectly ironed!' One passenger
Such feedback confirms that Ukrzaliznytsia is making every effort to improve the travel experience for its customers.
Overall, the fleet renewal—especially for the 'Sicheslav' train—marks a significant step in modernizing Ukraine’s railway services, with the goal of delivering a high standard of passenger care.
The upgrade of the 'Sicheslav' carriages reflects a broader trend of infrastructure and service improvements across Ukraine’s rail network. This could also boost demand for passenger rail travel, as comfort and safety become key factors in choosing a mode of transport. By implementing these changes, Ukrzaliznytsia aims to strengthen rail’s competitiveness amid growing pressure from other transport options. Such enhancements may serve as a foundation for further development of Ukraine’s railway system.
