Format of Ryder Cup 2025
The Ryder Cup features three different match formats - Foursomes, Fourballs, and Singles.
Foursomes are matches with alternating shots. Two players from each team compete against each other using one ball and taking turns to hit. The team with the lowest score on the hole wins.
Fourballs means that all four players use their own balls, and the best score on each hole wins for their team.
In Singles, similar to Fourball, each player plays with their ball, but only one player from each team competes. The one with the best score wins the hole.
On Friday and Saturday, four Foursomes and four Fourball matches will take place in the Ryder Cup, for which 16 points can be awarded.
On Sunday, 12 Singles matches will occur with all players from both teams. Each match counts for one point, and if they end in a tie, both teams receive half a point.
The Ryder Cup is not only a prestigious tournament but also a true celebration of the sport of golf, attracting thousands of fans from around the world daily. Participation is always a great honor for athletes, as each match carries enormous responsibility and competition is a true test of their skills. This year, spectators can experience thrilling duels and feel the atmosphere of competition between two strong teams.Read also
