Colsaerts has currently played in 498 tournaments, including the French Open, where he finished 49th with an overall score of -1.
He has 10 professional victories. He admitted that he nearly left the sport last year, but a second-place finish at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship made him reconsider that decision.
“I have been thinking about retirement for the last two or three years. Life sometimes presents challenges, and I am no longer able to play 25-30 weeks a year, picking up points here and there. It has become a bit tiring.”
“I decided this earlier. I was going to retire last year, but I experienced a miracle at Dunhill, where I finished second, and realized I could reach 500 tournaments.”
Colsaerts, who celebrates his 42nd birthday, made a significant contribution to the 'Miracle at Medinah' in 2012 at the Ryder Cup.
He competed alongside Lee Westwood in doubles against Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker, making several impressive long putts that helped Team Europe secure a point.

However, this time, Donald did not select him for the team, which was a great disappointment for Colsaerts.
“Yes, very disappointed, as this is the competition I live for, and it has been the only reason I got out of bed in recent years.”
“Very disappointed, yes, but the captain has the final word. No hard feelings about the decision he makes.”
Nicolas Colsaerts leaves golf with a wealth of experience and unforgettable moments that he has shared with fans throughout his career. The decision to retire is not an easy one, but the player leaves with the goal of reaching the significant milestone of 500 tournaments, highlighting his dedication to the game. His contribution to the development of golf in Europe will be remembered by fans forever.
