Strike on a Key Russian Port

According to Novyny.live: On March 2, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) executed a strike against the Russian port of Novorossiysk, successfully hitting military and oil infrastructure targets. This operation is part of a broader Ukrainian campaign to degrade the enemy's military logistics and war-sustaining capabilities. These long-range strikes demonstrate Ukraine's evolving ability to project force deep into Russian territory.

The drone attack resulted in damage to the following:

  • Russian warships;
  • 30N6E2 radar systems for the S-300 PMU-2 'Favorit' air defense complex;
  • 'Pantsir-S2' anti-aircraft missile systems.

Furthermore, six out of seven loading berths at the 'Sheskharis' oil terminal were struck. It is important to note that the 'Sheskharis' terminal is one of the largest oil-loading facilities in southern Russia, making it a strategically significant target.

In addition to the Novorossiysk operation, simultaneous strikes were carried out against the 'Kaleikino' oil pumping station in Tatarstan and the Ukhta oil refinery, the latter located approximately 1,750 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. These coordinated attacks highlight an intensification of Ukraine's efforts to disrupt Russian military logistics and energy exports that fund the war.

The successful targeting of Novorossiysk and other distant objectives underscores the increasing sophistication and reach of Ukrainian forces. Damaging these key military and energy assets has the potential to significantly impair Russia's operational capacity. These events mark a new phase in the conflict's escalation, with serious implications for regional security and the military strategies of both nations.
