According to TSN.ua: The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has detained two unemployed Ukrainian citizens in the Odesa region for registering Starlink satellite terminals for Russian occupying forces in exchange for payment. The suspects, a 36-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman from Izmail, have been formally charged with high treason. A court has ordered them to be held in pre-trial detention. Starlink terminals, which provide satellite internet, have become a critical piece of battlefield infrastructure, making their illicit acquisition a significant security threat.

According to the investigation, Russian intelligence services offered the detainees $30 USD for each illegally registered Starlink terminal. The suspects were also attempting to recruit others into the scheme, indicating organized activity. During searches of their residences, mobile phones containing evidence of their criminal actions were seized.
The charges relate to state treason committed by a group of individuals in a criminal conspiracy. 'The suspects turned out to be two local residents,' stated the SBU press service. Service representatives also noted that 'the enemy acts both directly and resorts to harsh manipulations.' The article of the criminal code under which they are charged carries a potential penalty of life imprisonment.
