The father of golfer Scheffler intervened after an offensive shout at McIlroy.
According to The Sun: The father of Scottie Scheffler defended Rory McIlroy when one of the spectators began to insult the Irish golfer during the Ryder Cup.
This weekend in the world of golf was filled with emotions, as the tension peaked at Bethpage Black during Europe's victory in the Ryder Cup.

However, the brightest target for the rowdy fans was Rory McIlroy.
He faced jokes and harsh insults repeatedly while trying to help his team create a serious advantage in the first two days.
These episodes prompted the golfer to stand up for himself, forcing several fans to leave the course, and he addressed some of them: “Shut the f*** up” during his shot.
However, the 36-year-old athlete was not the only one who had misunderstandings with overly enthusiastic spectators.
Unexpectedly, McIlroy was defended by his opponent and the father of Scottie Scheffler.
“Be nice, nice works better,”- he said to the spectators as his son played against McIlroy on Sunday.
“Everybody be nice,” he added, trying to calm the heated atmosphere.
While his attempt to support respect on the course deserves recognition, the intervention did not yield immediate results.
Meanwhile, as the USA team attempted to make a comeback, the growing enthusiasm in the stands only exacerbated the inappropriate behavior that plagued the entire tournament.

Particularly outrageous was the incident when a fan poured a drink on McIlroy's wife, Erica, as they walked by during the game on Saturday.
Erica, upset by the insults, burst into tears, and McIlroy himself criticized such behavior. His teammate Shane Lowry also expressed outrage over the attack on an innocent spectator, noting: “I spent two days next to Erica McIlroy, and the number of insults she received was astonishing.”
“The way she supported her husband and her team was incredible,” added Lowry.
Among other moments of the competition, Lowry again addressed the crowd: “F*** you” after his successful shot.
The Irishman, who later made the decisive shot to stop the USA comeback and secure the trophy for Europe, also faced insults regarding his weight during the tournament.

Tension also rose among the players themselves.
Bryson DeChambeau clashed with Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose after the latter sharply asked the American's caddy to step away from his line on the green.
McIlroy later closed DeChambeau's name with the European flag during his team celebrations, encouraged by his teammates and the crowd.
The Ryder Cup provided fans with many thrilling moments in golf, but spectators hope for improved behavior from viewers for the next defense of Europe's trophy in Ireland in 2027.
