Manchester United signs 23-year-old Belgian goalkeeper Lammens for €18 million.
Joining Manchester United
According to The Sun: Senne Lammens ignored the warnings of his 'skeptical' brother about joining a struggling team, Manchester United. Instead, the young Belgian goalkeeper believes he has fulfilled a 'childhood dream' by moving to United for £18.2 million from Royal Antwerp on the last day of the transfer window.

Lammens, who found himself on the bench during the 0-3 defeat in the derby, is viewed by United's management as a project goalkeeper. This decision looks promising compared to the fate of Aston Villa star and World Cup champion Emiliano Martinez.
However, Lammens' older brother expressed concern that his relative could end up on the list of young players who often suffer negative impacts on their careers at Old Trafford. Tom, a forward for the DT Borsbeke team in the Belgian sixth league, believes that Turkish giants Galatasaray would have been a better choice for Senne.
“There is a lot of quality, you play for trophies there [at Galatasaray].”
“And Senne could perhaps prove himself right away in the Champions League.”
“I was initially skeptical about the move to United since many players there have already faced pressure and could not realize their full potential.”
The situation in United's goal
Players like Antony, Scott McTominay, Anthony Elanga, and Álvaro Carreras have failed to succeed at United and continued their careers at other clubs. Ruben Amorim, who is currently focused solely on the FA Cup, noted: “We are at a point where it is difficult to be a Manchester United goalkeeper.”
Tom Lammens remarked: “In the end, it was Senne who had to make the decision. United gave him the best feeling.”
“Partly because Tony Cotton, United's goalkeeper scout, had been following him for almost a year and was very convinced of his qualities.”
Lammens joined the club that prompted former goalkeeper Onana to move to Trabzonspor on loan. Given that Bayındır conceded seven goals in his first four matches, the Belgian goalkeeper may debut in a game against Chelsea on Saturday.
Meanwhile, club legend Wayne Rooney expressed concern that Lammens could become a “panic buy” after successful performances on the European stage last season.
Manchester United ratings against Man City
Manchester United's dreadful start to the season continues after defeat to neighbors Man City.
Ruben Amorim's team failed to regain their morale after the break, suffering a 0-3 away defeat.
Phil Foden opened the scoring for City in the 18th minute, while Erling Haaland added a brace in the second half of the match.
United is currently in 14th place in the table, while City moved ahead of them with their second victory of the season.

Senne Lammens becomes part of the club at a difficult time when the team is trying to return to competitiveness. The brother's belief in opportunities at Galatasaray and Lammens' concerns about the pressure on young players may reflect the realities that newcomers face at Manchester United. Whether the Belgian goalkeeper can become a new star among big names or repeat the path of his predecessors is a question that time will reveal.
