Britons Reveal Secret: How to Get Money for Christmas Quickly and Legally.
Average Holiday Season Spending
According to The Sun: Families spent an average of £3,173 in the lead-up to the holidays, including gifts. This is £713 more than in an ordinary month, according to research by the Bank of England.
GettyDespite tight budgets, many people are asking themselves how to save for Christmas.
However, there are several simple ways to earn extra money and secure your finances before the holidays. Next, we will look at how to accumulate enough funds through offers to celebrate and leave some for New Year’s.
Switching Bank Accounts – £175
Three major banks offer free cash to customers who switch their accounts to them. For example, First Direct gives new customers £175 for switching to this bank.
This account allows you to get an overdraft of £250, 7% interest on a regular savings account, and free spending abroad.
To receive the bonus, you must not have received it from First Direct since January 1, 2018. You also need to deposit £1,000 into the account, make five card payments, and log into online banking.
Andrew Hagger, founder of Moneycomms, noted: “The current account switching service has made the process significantly easier than before, and there is a guarantee that you will be reimbursed if any mistakes or duplicate payments occur during this process.”
Customers can also earn 7% interest on amounts up to £250 a month on a linked regular savings account.
Switching Broadband Providers – £203
If you haven’t changed your mobile plan in the last year, you’re probably overpaying. According to Ofcom, 34% of broadband customers are out of contract.
Sabrina Hock, a telecommunications expert at Uswitch.com, stated that this means millions of people could be overpaying by up to £203 a year.
She added: “It only takes a few minutes to compare and find out what offers are available on the market.”
Changing Phone Contracts – £321
If your mobile contract has ended, you could save significant amounts by switching to a new plan.
Sabrina Hock said that households could save up to £321 a year by switching from a phone contract to a SIM-only plan.
She emphasized: “When your original contract ends, you have effectively finished paying for the phone, but this may not be reflected in your monthly bills.”
Referring Friends – £80
Some companies offering internet services, credit cards, and mobile services give money if you refer them to your friends.
For instance, the mobile network Three provides £80 for referring one of their products.
Finding Empty Homes – £20
You can earn thousands if you find unoccupied houses. YouSpotProperty allows people to earn money by reporting empty or abandoned properties.
Once the house meets the criteria, you will receive a voucher for £20.
Getting Rewards for Checking Your Credit Score – £9
A popular cashback site pays for checking your credit score. TopCashback offers £9 for signing up for a free credit score check with Experian.
To receive the reward, you need to register for an account with TopCashback.
Your actions will be tracked, and you should receive the money within about three months.
