The 23-year-old athlete cried with joy upon seeing her name on the scoreboard, having outpaced Jamaica's Sherika Jackson with a time of 22.14 seconds.

After the race, Hunt gave a heartfelt interview to BBC Sport, describing her performance as 'sexy and aggressive.'
“I can't contain my smiles and tears. As soon as I saw my mom, I just broke down.”
“I am very proud of myself, a few minutes before the competition I thought about my granddad. I knew he was watching over me, I knew he would support me.”
Hunt's achievement is even more impressive considering the challenges she faced on her path to success.
The athlete chose to study English literature at Cambridge instead of fully focusing on athletics, pursuing sports and education simultaneously, graduating in 2023.
However, she managed to make the women's 4x100 meters relay team for the 2024 Olympics, where she also won a silver medal.
“I chose Cambridge to earn a degree, partly for myself to later be proud of it, but also to show other young athletes, other girls, that you don't have to give up on education.”
“You can be academically successful and an athlete.”
This was only the second medal for Great Britain at the World Championships after Jake Wightman's silver in the 1500 meters on Wednesday.

Hunt also shared her plans to follow Wightman's lead, recreating his karaoke celebration after the competition.
The Scotsman had previously mentioned that he celebrated his victory by singing a Spandau Ballet song in a local bar, but Hunt's song choice turned out to be somewhat unexpected.
“I can't believe it, maybe I'll sing karaoke tonight.”
“It will probably be the song Maneater. It's really cliché, but I feel it fits the spirit of the evening: just sexy and aggressive.”
Amy Hunt has become an example of how to successfully balance sports and education. Her story inspires young athletes, demonstrating that it is possible to reach heights in sports without forgetting the importance of education. Her impressive results at championships testify to her diligence and dedication, as well as her ability to overcome challenges on her path to her goals.
