The firewood season has begun - where to buy and how much does it cost.
The summer period is the ideal time to prepare for the winter season and heating. Purchasing firewood in advance allows you to save money and avoid autumn rush.
Where firewood is already being prepared for the population
The forestry enterprises of Poltava region have started harvesting and selling firewood. The demand for fuel wood has been increasing since mid-summer. Since the beginning of the year, approximately 79 thousand cubic meters of firewood have already been sold in the region. Work continues throughout the year with the participation of more than 40 forestry enterprises in the region.
In the Khorol forestry, selective sanitary logging is carried out, harvesting about 10 cubic meters of timber daily. The main species is oak. The timber is processed and prepared for sale, tagged with special labels.
How much does firewood cost and how to buy it
The cost of wood varies depending on the species: from 684 to 1,272 hryvnias per cubic meter. There is the highest demand for hard wood species. The purchase process is simple - one needs to have a passport and identification code, sign a contract, and pay for the order.
In the Khorol forestry, over 2 thousand cubic meters of firewood were sold in the first half of the year. It was previously mentioned that it is better to buy firewood in spring or summer when prices are lower and the wood has time to dry. This is especially important for 'winter' wood.
It is also worth remembering that improperly planted trees may sprout unwanted self-seeders, which can later become dangerous and require attention.
Preparation for winter heating begins in summer when you can buy cheaper firewood and give them time to dry. The forestry enterprises in Poltava region are actively preparing firewood for the population, focusing on hard wood species that are in the highest demand. Buying firewood requires a simple procedure and attention to the quality of the material.Read also
