Key Remarks from Ukraine’s Top Diplomat
According to UATV: In an interview with the Ukrainian news agency 'Ukrinform', Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha made it clear that Russia itself is the single greatest obstacle to ending the war. He called for more pressure on Moscow and emphasized the need for the United States to take a leading role in bringing the conflict to a close. According to Sybiha, Russia is the only barrier preventing the finalization of all peace efforts currently spearheaded by Washington.
Discussions at the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting
During the G7 ministerial gathering, the focus was on sustaining support for Ukraine and strengthening global security. Sybiha highlighted the unity among G7 nations in their pursuit of a just peace. He also pointed out that the United States remains the only country with the leverage to force the Kremlin into accepting peace, stating:
'Today, the United States is the sole nation capable of compelling Russia to make peace.' Andrii Sybiha
These comments underscore the critical role of international backing in Ukraine’s ongoing conflict and the urgent need to step up efforts for regional stability. Collaboration with the G7 and the U.S. could prove decisive in shaping a new agenda for peace negotiations, as these powers hold significant influence over Russia and can drive changes in its foreign policy.
