Ukraine's Drone Forces Destroy 13 Russian Vessels Near Crimea: Operation Details.
Strikes Against the Russian Fleet
According to UATV: On July 10, 2023, operators from Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces launched attacks on the Russian fleet near the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula, hitting 13 vessels and 5 electrical substations. The nighttime operation eliminated 13 enemy watercraft, including:
- 10 tankers
- 1 dry cargo ship
- 1 ferry
- 1 sea tug
This strike was part of a broader campaign that has seen 48 watercraft destroyed over the past 120 hours.
Targets Hit and Consequences of the Operation
In addition, the attacks destroyed five electrical substations: 'Berehove' (Molochnе village), 'Saky', 'Maynaky' (Yevpatoria), 'Novoozerna', and 'Medvedevo' (Medvedevo settlement). Overall, in recent days, 41 military targets in Crimea and the southern part of the temporarily occupied territories have been struck.
Robert 'Madyar' Brovdy noted that 'plus 13 units of Russia's shadow fleet were taken out on the approaches to Crimea during the night of July 10.'
A key part of the operation was the elimination of 426 occupiers in the tactical depth within a single day, with the total number of enemy targets destroyed in 24 hours reaching 1,660. 'In the tactical depth along the line of contact, the 'Birds of the SBS' 'sang' 426 occupiers over the course of the day,' Brovdy reported. It is also worth noting that over a six-month period in 2026, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck 697 targets on Russian territory.
These actions demonstrate the continuation of active hostilities in the region and highlight the effectiveness of unmanned systems in modern conflict. The destruction of a significant number of enemy targets, including vessels and electrical substations, could impact Russia's logistics and military capabilities in the area, underscoring the importance of technology in contemporary warfare. It also indicates that Ukrainian forces are actively countering occupation troops, maintaining the initiative on the battlefield.
