Scandal over Prosecutors' Salary Increase: Rada Made the Final Decision.
The Verkhovna Rada voted to cancel the salary increase for prosecutors
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported an amendment to the state budget draft for 2025, which cancels the salary increase for prosecutors. This amendment was voted for by 242 members of parliament.
This was reported on social media by member of parliament Yaroslav Zheleznyak. He expressed gratitude to colleagues who fought for the cancellation of the salary increase for prosecutors.
Audit Chamber Reform Adopted
In addition, the Verkhovna Rada approved the reform of the Audit Chamber, which is a requirement of the International Monetary Fund and the USA. The changes provide for a competition with a predominant vote of international experts to select new members of the Chamber, ensuring political and financial independence, and reducing the number of members from 13 to 11.
